COMPASS ROSE SOCIETYSupporting the global ministry of the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Anglican Communion.

Founded in 1994 at the Old Palace in Canterbury, the Society has become an important financial resource to the Communion and a valuable voice for supporting the work of maintaining and improving unity in the Communion.

Join us in London in October.

Throughout the year, the Compass Rose Society offers events that help us connect and commune with our more than 300 members in nine countries, as well as help our members learn and grow in their faith. We encourage you to consider these offerings as an opportunity to engage on a deeply personal level and to benefit others as well.

Make a DifferenceJoin the Society.

You can be involved in or support life-improving projects all over the world. Working in impoverished and overcrowded cities in Brazil or in church-run orphanages that house HIV/AIDs victims in South Africa, we have found hope for the future and have witnessed first-hand the power of our important work.

As a member, you will have rare opportunities to participate in Communion Visits to Anglican churches around the world. You will meet church, political and governmental leaders and travel in the company of the secretary general of the Anglican Communion.

Providing a lasting impact and an invaluable voice conveying news of the Communion.

A rich historyDiscover our background.

The Society was an outgrowth of a 1994 mission by Archbishop George Carey to the war-ravaged and often overlooked Sudan. When he returned, the Archbishop undertook the effort to communicate the desperate story of the Sudanese. His efforts were rewarded with a strong and generous response from the global Anglican family. The Compass Rose Society was formed to continue and fund the work of the Anglican Communion Office.

The society, which takes its name from the mariner’s compass that reaches out to points around the world, was formally established in 1997, and has raised more than $12 million (USD) over the course of its history.
